Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Waltz Into Nougat, At Last!

Given that Google has already released the Android 7.1.2 update to its Pixel and Nexus handsets, it seems to be a given that Samsung will not want to stay behind for long.

Nougat is continuing its rollout to existing devices this week, as several Samsung phones in the U.S. are receiving their updates to the latest major Android release. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on AT&T and Verizon is one such example, but it certainly looks as though all of the agonized waiting is about to come to an end. Similarly last month, they pushed Nougat for the Galaxy Note 4.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 arrived back in 2015 with a 5.7-inch display size while being powered by Exynos 7420 Octa paired to a 4GB RAM.

Just a day after AT&T began rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to the Samsung Galaxy Note5 and S6 edge+, Verizon Wireless is following suit with its own set of upgrades for its variants of the two devices. Verizon Note 5 owners will be updating to version N920VVRU3CQB9, while Verizon S6 edge+ owners will be moving to version G928VVRU3CQB9. Sprint has yet to update their official page just yet, but this does not mean that Nougat goodness is not forthcoming for both devices. This particular Android 7.0 Nougat update will be accompanied by the February security patch as well.
