It destroyed dozens of homes, killed a man, 46-year-old Eric Gavin, and injured at least 25 other people, some seriously, authorities said.

In Wisconsin dozens of mobile homes were scattered after a tornado slammed into a trailer park in Barron County.

According to the National Weather Service, almost 300 preliminary severe weather reports filed in from Wisconsin to Texas, spanning Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said the person is an adult female in serious condition. According to the Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center, one person at the park died. Two people, initially reported missing, had driven themselves to a nearby hospital.

The Elk City School District canceled schools Wednesday in the wake of the storm.

The tornadoes, some of them still unverified a day later, touched down in five states: Wisconsin and Oklahoma, which each had one death and about 40 homes destroyed, and Texas, Kansas and Nebraska. Wisconsin and Oklahoma were two of the hardest hit areas, forcing residents to clean up after several homes and businesses were damaged.

Rice Lake and Chetek sirens blared at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday as the sky turned dark and green. A slight risk for severe storms surrounds Iowa, and includes Milwaukee; Kansas City, Missouri; and Omaha, Nebraska. We have several homes that were completely destroyed.

“You see them cut up in stitches and stuff because they rode it out in their trailer.” said Seever.

“An outbreak of severe thunderstorms with tornadoes, very large hail and wind damage is expected to develop across parts of the southern and central Plains from this afternoon into this evening and overnight”.

The tornado then continues to move.

Much of the damage is at the Prairie Lake Estate Mobile Home Park in Cameron.

In a special report, a major storm rages from the southern portion of the country to the northern lakes on Tuesday and even took two lives in the state of Wisconsin and Oklahoma.
