Aide posts joking video of Clinton avoiding ‘unwanted Trump hug’
Today her former advisor Philippe Reines tweeted some behind-the-scenes footage of a debate prep session. The prep took place in Westchester County, New York, two days ahead of the first presidential debate.
In an interview conducted via email on Friday, Reines said Clinton strategists didn’t necessarily think Trump would try to hug Clinton, per se, but might attempt to differentiate himself from Clinton visually. He continues to try to hug her and she walks toward the debate podium.
In the video, Reines, pretending to be Trump, greets Clinton on stage for a friendly embrace. Reines doesn’t let her escape, however ― he tracks her down from behind, hugs her, and appears to plant a kiss on the back of her head, as her aides can be heard laughing in the background.
Previously unseen footage has emerged of Hillary Clinton apparently practising how she would avoid a hug from Donald Trump.
Shortly thereafter Sen. Schumer of NY said it was time for an independent prosecutor to look into the Comey matter.
CORRECTION: This story was updated to reflect that the handshake between Trump and Comey occurred in the Blue Room of the White House.
It was bad enough there was going to be a handshake.
I agree. a year ago during the presidential campaign, Director Comey held a news conference regarding Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified documents/emails. If you look at the video, it’s one person shaking hands and another hugging.
Her debate prep partner opens his arms to her, but the former Secretary of State grabs his hand and attempts to run away before he grabs her. Then, Trump extended his hand, patted Abe’s hands for some time and then pulled him closer to ask (in reference to the Japanese-speaking photographers in the room) “What are they saying?”
