Betting odds on Chris Wood’s future offers encouragement to Leeds United
Wood has had a fantastic season for Leeds, who were unfortunate to barely miss out on play-off positions in the Championship.
West Ham, Southampton, Swansea and Stoke are all reportedly keen on a move for £20m-rated Leeds striker Chris Wood this summer.
It is only natural that the New Zealand worldwide will be linked with a move to a Premier League club given his form, with the former Leicester City man showing that he has what it takes to star in English football’s top flight.
The Irons are in the market for a goalscorer and are ready to battle Stoke to secure Wood’s signature.
Wood arrived at Elland Road ahead of the 2015/16 season for £3m from Leicester City, and still has two-years remaining on the four-year contract he agreed with the Whites.
Wood was the division’s top scorer with 27 goals, and became the first Leeds player to score 30 times across all competitions, since Jermaine Beckford during the 2009/10 campaign.
A number of Chinese clubs were interested in signing Wood in January, and it would be a big surprise not to see the striker make a move to the top flight of English football.
Asked about his future in the aftermath of this season’s finale at Wigan Athletic, Wood said: “I have been working hard all season to do what we have been doing and hopefully getting promoted to the Premier League”.
