Celtics announce their biggest change for Game 2 vs. Cavaliers

The Cavs kind of shut down all of the positional advantages that the Celtics have when they try to do their Isaiah Thomas-Al Horford pick-and-rolls, as Tristan Thompson is good enough to either stay on Isaiah or run back to Horford.

Prior to the 2017 NBA Draft Lottery, some flirted with the idea that the Boston Celtics should trade Isaiah Thomas.

Coach Brad Stevens indicated he hopes to have the same success he had when he started Green in the first round against the Chicago Bulls.

“We just want to try to get better“.

Antetokounmpo averaged career highs in almost all statistical categories including points (22.9), rebounds (8.8), assists (5.4), blocks (1.9) and steals (1.6) per game. On its home court, Boston was trailing by 41 points midway through the game. But that wasn’t the case in Game 1.

Avery Bradley was a nightmare for Irving every time he touched the ball, just as he was on March 1 during the the third game of their regular season series when the on-ball defensive guru famously shut down Irving during the closing moments of a thrilling Celtics win. The C’s already have a stud point guard in Isaiah Thomas, the third-leading scorer in the National Basketball Association this past season, and there’s only one ball. We’re not scared of Cleveland.

After getting dominated in Game 1 in nearly all areas, Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas said that, although the Cavaliers now have home-court advantage, Boston still, somehow, isn’t scared of the wine and gold.

But Jaylen Brown is out to prove that he’s no ordinary rookie. “But to me, LeBron’s the MVP”. “I knew I wouldn’t feel that great after the game, and I don’t feel that great right now”.

Bearing in mind that Houston won game one in San Antonio by 27 points, we shouldn’t overstate the importance of one game.

The Celtics repeatedly said the Cavaliers threw the first punch, and they never really answered that strike. The Cavaliers (60-31 SU, 45-42-4 ATS) have since gone 6-0-1 ATS, including an easy Game 1 victory over the Celtics on Wednesday night.

That one was critical to clinching Cleveland’s first championship since the Browns won the National Football League title in 1964. Thomas and Stevens were hit with technical fouls about a minute apart in the second quarter.

This one more like rubbing the Celtics’ noses in the fact that they just couldn’t stop him. Containing James is a must and at the same time they are playing great in the offense.

Gerald Green ignites the crowd with back to back treys! Boston must find a way to slow down James while not getting eaten up by a supporting cast, which other than Kevin Love’s big game didn’t produce at its usual high rate.
