Cleveland Cavaliers thrash Boston Celtics in historic victory

In addition to the usual capacity crowd of 20,562 inside the arena, many thousands of fans will be in Gateway Plaza outside the arena to watch the game on large video screens while soaking up the atmosphere at what’s becoming a rite of spring during James’ second stint with the Cavs. James is unstoppable in just about every way possible, and he could easily take over the game shooting the ball any time.

Oh, and there’s extra motivation for Cleveland – now 9-0 in these playoffs -which could earn another long rest if it makes quick work of the Celtics.

Cavaliers: James is first player with at least 30 points in eight straight playoff games since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1970.

Now only one question remains: how much fight will the Celtics put forth Sunday night in Cleveland. I’m excited about Game 3. “But I should be much better (Friday)”.

“There’s gonna be some adjustments made from both sides”, James said Thursday. “That’s what good teams do and we have to be ready for anything they bring to the table”. “I feel like we can go to Cleveland and make it a whole lot different Games 3 and 4 than we did 1 and 2”. So, if, I don’t know, Philly goes to them and says we’ll give you number three, and we’ll also give you this, this, this and this to switch spots with us, this is a great draft, like I’m pretty sure the Celtics could talk themselves into Josh Jackson at number three. “As well as we played tonight, we’ve got a couple of things we can do better”.

Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens revealed Friday night that star Isaiah Thomas has been hindered by a nagging right hip injury for a portion of the team’s playoff run.

It may be too simple, it may be impossible and it may not work at all, but game one was a nice reminder to the Celtics that is James can get into the paint then he will score every single time. It included getting within 11 points with less than 2 minutes to play.

After Celtics coach Brad Stevens finished detailing the hip injury that leaves Isaiah Thomas questionable moving forward and after he tried to explain how his team had endured the most lopsided loss by a No. 1 seed in National Basketball Association history, Stevens was asked where the Celtics go from here.

“There’s nothing to figure out”, Thomas said. I mean, they definitely showed a few bodies that was aggressive on me, but that’s nothing I haven’t seen this whole year. “We’re going back home, we’re not going to get comfortable. Point blank, period”, said Celtics rookie Jaylen Brown, who scored a team-high 19 points over 24 minutes.
