Father of singers Nick and Aaron Carter dead
Nick and Aaron Carter’s father Robert Gene Carter passed away suddenly at age 65 Tuesday. Leslie Carter, one of the five Carter siblings, died from an overdose at 25-years-old in 2012. The cause of death has not been determined.
Nick broke the news on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
Aaron also shared a tweet, writing, “I am in shock and I loved my dad so much”.
We’re told Bob – whom the families believe died from a heart attack – requested cremation. “This is the last pic I have my dad (sic)”.

Throughout his life, and his sons’ careers – Bob Carter has often been in the limelight, for being so vocal about his struggle with his family, and his closeness to his boys.
Aaron continued on Instagram: “My heart is broken”. “#RIPDADDY I love you”. The Backstreet Boy asked for “our privacy be respected at this hard time” as the family “learn [s] more about the cause of death, and begin the grieving process”.
A cause of death has yet to be revealed, but according to TMZ.com, the news emerges shortly after singer Aaron shared a Twitter post about his dad, known as Bob, being found unconscious.

In another post, Aaron wrote: “I’m gonna miss you forever poppa smurf you were the coolest man ever”.
Aaron’s rep said the brothers would not be issuing an additional statement at this time.
