Google Launches Android Go for ‘Next Billion’ Smartphone Users
There’ll be a section on the Google Play store for these devices that highlights apps optimized for Android Go. With Android Go, Google is effectively targeting customers in developing markets where entry-level, ultra-cheap devices are more widely used than flagships. There is a new way to locate those apps and this Android Assistant App Directory will be more than helpful. All app developers can also learn how to optimize their apps for the new lightweight OS by going to Google’s new webpage.

Lens was one of the advancements in artificial intelligence Google showed off on the first day of its I/O developer conference.
It basically represents a set of vision-based computer capabilities that are enabling us to understand what we are seeing and helps in taking action based on that information. For instance, if the users take a snap (via Google Photo app) of a hotel and tap Google Lens option, it automatically connects it to Google search function and gives hotel’s timings, menu card, reviews and table booking option. Google will also let you share whole photo libraries with others.

At this stage the app only operates in English, however, Google has announced that new languages will be available soon.
When you see one on the directory, you can download the app and see how the Google Assistant will respond. Previously, the assistant worked only on Google’s Android software.
On a positive note, the company has added more language support for Google Assistant including Brazilian Portuguese, French, German and Japanese, and by the end of the year, the Assistant will support Italian, Korean and Spanish.
