Harry Kane scores four goals as Tottenham beat Leicester 6-1

In this photo taken by the Associated Press, Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean attacker Son Heung-min (R), celebrates after scoring a goal during the English Premier League match against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in Leicester, Britain, on May 18, 2017. Leicester basically allowed Spurs to have shooting practice towards the end of the game, and Kane didn’t need further invitation, coolly finishing from just outside the box with a strike that left Foxes keeper Kasper Schmeichel wrong-footed.

The 23-year-old would surely have scored more than 40 if he hadn’t missed two chunks of this season with ankle injuries, and Pochettino spoke glowing about Kane’s appetite for success.

Ruthless Harry Kane struck four goals as Tottenham dismantled Leicester 6-1. The Belgian has been successful with 84% of his attempted take-ons in the Premier League this season, while he has a superb average pass accuracy of 92%.

Kane opened the scoring before Son made it 2-0 at half-time and, although Chilwell pulled a second-half goal back, Spurs scored four times in the last 27 minutes, including Kane netting twice at the death.

Alexis Sanchez has taken the most shots of the three Golden Boot contenders.

After a quiet start to the second half, Leicester reduced the deficit in the 60th minute as Vardy played in Ben Chilwell, who showed good composure to slot home with his right foot.

Van Persie was the last player to win the Golden Boot in consecutive seasons when he did so in 2011-12 and 2012-13. – This is the joint-heaviest defeat in Premier League history for a reigning champion (also Manchester United’s 6-1 loss to Manchester City in October 2011). “I’m going to go out there against Hull and try and get four more“.

It begs the question, would Spurs have won the league if Kane was fit all year?

THE Premier League is home to some world class strikers, but who will win the Golden Boot?

However, Kane scored Spurs’ third goal of the night just four minutes later when he rose high to beat the goalkeeper with a ideal header.

“Playing with the national team is always different but Harry is in very good form and we hope he keeps that same form for the next few games”.

The England striker is out to maul Gordon Strachan’s struggling side in the World Cup qualifier at Hampden next month. I am on 75 in the league and if there is another season like this then hopefully I can get to the 100.

“I’m sure Lukaku wasn’t too happy, but there’s one game to go and I’m sure he’ll be determined to try to score a hat-trick on Sunday”.
