HTC unveils U11 flagship smartphone
Inside, the HTC 11 is powered with the latest octa-core Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 835 partnered with the Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
Currently, it is available in Sapphire Blue, Ice White, Solar Red, Brilliant Black and Amazing Silver. Some other regions will get a 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant as well. A 3000mAh battery completes the package.
Another feature of the HTC U11 is its AI assistant support. Starting off with the camera, HTC has announced that the U11’s rear camera has received the highest DxOMark rating ever.
With a 10-nanometer-based mobile processor, the U11 provides processing speeds 25 percent faster than its predecessor, the HTC 10, according to the company.
The U11’s exclusive carrier partner for the United States is Sprint, but it will also be available unlocked for $649. The camera can capture slow motion video in 1080p at 120fps.
Up front, the handset features a 16-megapixel camera that’s equipped with a 150-degree wide angle lens. The manufacturers housed the device with artificial intelligence which they named as HTC Sense Companion. Until now users could use only one assistant at a time but the dual wake word will let users invoke either Alexa or Google Assistant. As for the availability, the handset wil be launched in selected markets next week. You’ll even be able to squeeze the phone underwater to take a picture.
The main feature of the HTC U11 is called Edge Sense.
The HTC U11 represents a natural progression from the previous HTC U Ultra model, both in terms of looks and functionalities. All these packed, the phone supposedly weighs only 169 gm which seem to be a good deal after the fall of the HTC U Ultra. It will come bundled with the USonic earbuds, 3.5mm to USB Type-C adapter and a smartphone clear case. There’s also the usual array of NFC, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi support as well as a fingerprint sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, magnetic sensor, and gyroscope.
Setting aside this apparent time-saving gimmick, the HTC U11 is being launched in five colours and measures 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.9mm, making it around 5mm shorter than the iPhone 7 Plus and 6mm shorter than the Samsung Galaxy 8 Plus.
HTC has been making reference to this feature over the past month or so.
HTC U11 will be available from June 9, however, if you’re interested, you can preorder the phone. Early birds are set to get two free Amazon Echo Dots. The $50 amount will be automatically deducted from $649 bringing the price of the flagship phone down to $599.
