Klopp primed to spend to bolster Liverpool

The Reds have their Champions League qualification in their own hands after beating West Ham last Sunday.

Still, with Klopp’s men now looking major favourites to qualify for the top four with just a win against Middlesbrough needed on the final day of the season, Liverpool fans can start to get excited.

Jurgen Klopp would like to have Roberto Firmino (pic) available as the Brazil worldwide has made a significant impact in front of goal this season with 12 goals.

However, Klopp also stressed that his side will have to keep the players they have fit, adding: “Still then you need to be lucky with injuries because the injuries we had this year were not injuries from training”.

“You know we have been in talks with some clubs in England as well, but this time I chose to make the decision as to what I feel and what I prefer for myself”, Draxler told BBC World Service.

“This view has changed”, the German told a news conference, referring to Liverpool having limited options in recent transfer windows partly due to the lack of Champions League football.

However, he missed last Sunday’s 4-0 win at West Ham with a knock, and was unable to train this week although he was ably replaced by Daniel Sturridge against the Hammers.

“He’s not part of team training, we will make a final test tomorrow and we will see”.

“It always makes sense to think before we spend”.

“At this stage I’d rather say yes than maybe”.

“It’s not a hard injury, the problem is the rehabilitation, because this is an injury that needs time”, he said.

“That’s the situation, but we were not one second without our captain because Hendo is always around. The only problem was the season was a little bit too short for him to come back”.

“There were some teams that wanted me from the Premier League but it was not like it was very, very close”.

“If we have to restart a few times in the game we will”.

‘If not, we don’t deserve it.

Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Julian Draxler says his decision to reject an offer from England, thought to be from Liverpool, was never motivated by money. “What we’ve tried to do the whole week is to prepare as good as possible”. The big difference is it’s the last one and so it’s a big opportunity for us.
