Wenger’s future at Arsenal will be decided after FA Cup final

Wenger faced the media on Friday ahead of Arsenal’s final Premier League game of 2016-17 at home to Everton.

Wenger’s future is set to be determined at a board meeting to be held after the FA Cup Final against Chelsea on 27 May.

Manchester City, now in third, are away at struggling Watford and know that their place is more-or-less safe barring a five-goal swing that sees them lose at Vicarage Road and the Gunners beating Everton.

Arsenal’s Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez is quite in demand among big clubs across all leagues.

“It doesn’t matter about chances”.

Adams suggested that Wenger did not want him back at the club in a coaching capacity due to a potential challenge to his authority, but the Frenchman insists that former players have no divine right to expect a job after they retire. “We do not need to look at any other game“. “I am focused to win the next game“.

“First of all, they are under contract”. It’s sad. I am respectful to everybody.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is well aware the subsequent boost to Liverpool’s profile would be a major help in signing his top transfer targets. We want to finish strong. “If we don’t, we don’t”, the German said. Pep Guardiola was brought in to win trophies, specifically the Champions League, not merely finish in the top four.

There’s no doubt that Wenger would quizzed on Adams’ comments in his final Premier League conference of the season.

Sanchez also said that the players’ mentality is the reason for their recent three-game winning streak in the league.

Adams played under Wenger for six years before his retirement in 2002. “For example, a director of football or sporting director could be responsible for keeping abreast of developments in analytics and sports science”, says the Guardian.

Everton have a key role to play in whether Arsenal or Liverpool qualify for next season’s Champions League.

“I have seen players like Gael Clichy, Hector Bellerin and Kieran Gibbs coming to Arsenal and not progressing as they might have – and Per Mertesacker exposed because of a lack of protection”.

Chelsea can, however, and if Diego Costa leaves Stamford Bridge, the Blues could be interested in bringing Lukaku back to west London.

“I always said the same: I try to do my best, to support the team, to score goals, to win victories. And we will see at the end”.
