Lenovo starts rolling out Android Wear 2.0 to Moto 360 2nd Gen

Motorola originally said that its smartwatches would get the update to Wear 2.0 in late May. The Motorola support account on Twitter announced the rollout earlier today, and we’re starting to see users confirm it on their watches. The process may well take some time to reach all parts of the globe, which will take quite a few days to be fully completed.

The original Moto 360 is one of the few popular smartwatches that won’t be getting the new Android Wear 2.0 update, Motorola announced a year ago.

@NamelessWing @Moto Happy to report that AndroidWear 2.0 will start rolling out in phases on Moto 360 2nd Gen, possibly as early as today.

Let us know in the comments if you’ve received the update on your Moto 360 yet.

The long wait for Android Wear 2.0 to arrive on the second generation Moto 360 has finally come to a close. The company had also confirmed the Android Wear 2.0 update for the Moto 360 Sport, but is yet to provide an ETA.

With Android Wear 2.0, your smartwatch will have the Play Store app built in, so that you can easily install apps without using your phone for this.
