Sen McCain Reminisces About US Leadership Under Obama
Proving that he’s the grand poobah of Capitol Hill RINOs (Republicans in name only), McCain once again threw Trump under the bus when asked by a liberal foreign newspaper if American leadership was stronger under Barack Obama than under Trump.
“What do you think the message is?”
According to the Guardian, McCain was “visibly irked” when asked about comments Trump made last week in the wake of the terrorist attack in London, in which he criticized London Mayor Sadiq Khan for his response to the atrocity.
Khan was only reassuring the residents, not to get alarmed by the increased number of police presence over the next few days.
This is a major departure for McCain, who lost to Obama in the 2008 presidential election and was a fierce critic of his former rival’s foreign policy. “The message is that America doesn’t want to lead”, McCain said, the Guardian gleefully reported.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said the USA had better leadership under Barack Obama, a report says.
But saying Obama – Obama of world tour apologist fame, Obama of diplomacy at all costs fame, Obama of selling out Israel and Mideast allies with the Iran treaty fame – is better for America in terms of leadership is a new low, for even the left. “No reason to be alarmed”.
He also said in an interview with an Australian TV network that Trump makes him “nervous from time to time” and said he was bothered that Trump does not always take the advice of his national security team.
Trump used his statements on Twitter to promote his travel ban barring people from six predominantly Muslim countries from entering the U.S. The federal courts so far have blocked his ban.
