Sushma targets Meira Kumar using old video, news report

There was new sparking today in the alliance that governs Bihar, with 27-year-old Tejashwi Yadav, who is Deputy Chief Minister of the state, accusing boss Nitish Kumar of blatant opportunism and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi of part-timing in politics.

Alliance and individual party policies were two separate things and nobody could dictate terms to the JD (U) on policy matters, he said, hinting that it was not in the interest of the alliance to continue under a cloud of uncertainty.

“We will welcome Nitish Kumar in the NDA”.

Opposition’s presidential nominee Meira Kumar on Sunday wrote a letter to the electoral collegium seeking support in the upcoming presidential elections that are scheduled to take place on July 17.

He said he would try to influence Nitish by advising him to reconsider his decision but the statement of the CM he made when he stepped out of Lalu’s residence has left no room for any rethinking. He has also said that as Bihar Governor, Ram Nath Kovind was exemplary in his non-partisanship.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, JD (U) state president Bashistha Narain Singh said that “the party can not tolerate this and RJD must stop their leaders from making statements against the chief minister”. “KCR is ideologically a BJP supporter”, he said.

In a separate press conference, party leader Shabbir Ali said Meira Kumar played a key role in the formation of Telangana as the Lok Sabha Speaker ensuring that the Bill was passed against all odds.

“Even the sympathizers of the Modi government are shocked at the mess and the horrifying images created in nearly every sphere”, he said adding, “The supporters & promoters of ideology of hate & discrimination are being encouraged by the ruling party at center”.

Lalu looked very grim at the Iftar party, something unusual as he used to crack jokes and laugh heartily at such occasions earlier, but said nothing. Besides, BJP (and Swaraj) should also consider the party’s history of disruptions during the UPA-II regime before calling the kettle black. “He fought for the poor and exploited in the parliament as well as outside”, he said.

“This is how Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar treated the Leader of Opposition”, Swaraj posted along with the video clip.
