Pittsburgh Steelers tinker with pass coverage in minicamp

The Steelers made it all the way to the AFC Championship last season, only to lose to the Patriots 36-17 in a game that was never really close. They haven’t beaten New England since 2011.

Fortunately for Shazier, his Steelers have an opportunity to rectify their problem when they host the Patriots in Week 15, when both teams will likely be deep in the battle for playoff positioning.

Brady is 10-2 all time against his AFC foe, averaging 294 yards at least two touchdown passes per outing.

“If you look at it that way, the National Football League has a Patriots problem“, Shazier said. “If we want our dreams to unfold in a manner in which we envision them, we have to respect [the process]”, he said. What we did a year ago is we ran a lot of false blitzes that weren’t really blitzes but appeared to be blitzes and played zone behind it. I feel we are going to get them when we need to get them.

“I think it’s awesome”, said the elder Watt, via the Houston Chronicle.

Despite the Steelers’ recent struggles against New England, Shazier sounds pretty confident about the 2017 season. James Harrison and Bud Dupree are already penciled in as the team’s starting outside linebackers, but Watt’s transition to playing full time may come sooner than the team now projects.

According to Shazier, this will be the year the Steelers knock off the Patriots because his team is “prepared” to do it. And at any day I feel we can win the Super Bowl.

“I think Cam has the intelligence to play any position on the field”, Lake said.

“If they do, hopefully, we’ll improve enough to get to that next step”, Butler said.

As the Patriots try to match the Steelers with six Super Bowl titles, the Steelers hope to get past the Patriots for a shot at Lombardi Trophy No. 7. “We have to be able to play at home“.
